Good morning everyone.

8ELA

-If we were in the classroom, we'd watch the I am David movie together.  Unfortunately, we aren't so we can't.  However, if you're interested in watching it, it's available on Google Play and iTunes and there is a small charge; I think it's $3.99.  This could be your assignment for today.  If you won't/can't download the movie, you'll have to read a book of your choosing from your home library.

-Today you can go on Netflix and find the Netflix Series Original Empire Games.  It's a collection of six episodes with each one focussing on a different civilization, including the Egyptians, Romans, and Greeks.
-If the variety of empires is not how you want to spend your SS time today, you could watch Braveheart (free on Netflix) or other Middle Ages-themed movies like Princess Bride (not totally historically accurate, but fun).

7SS

-We've been learning about society, culture, stereotypes and when you look at the news, it's pretty interesting timing
-We've spent the past school year, learning about the world and how it affects people and how people affect the world
-Yesterday's lesson had you thinking about YOUR personal culture so today let's take a look at what that looks like in others
-Today we're starting a video series on culture; each day I'll post a new video--there is no "homework" that I can measure.  Instead, think about the message of the video, think about why I've assigned it, and watch the news for information related to culture and diversity.
-Today's video is From Far Away; it is Canadian-made--I hope you enjoy it.  Copy the link into your browser.
